Animals need people who pay attention, take action, and take responsibility. The German Animal Welfare Federation is exactly that: one of the most important voices for animal welfare in Germany – independent, non-profit, and supported by over 800,000 supporters. As the umbrella organization for more than 740 animal welfare associations and around 550 animal shelters, it not only fights for the care of animals in need, but also for better legislation, education, and long-term changes in the way animals are treated – in agriculture, in research laboratories, and in everyday life.
